Job Purpose
Vacancies exist for 4x Senior Operators on a Fixed-Term Contract within the Life of Mine Extension department reporting to the Foreman Heap Leach. The successful incumbent will be responsible for shift supervision of ore handling, comminution and uranium extraction team at the Tailings Storage Facility Heap Leach plant.
Key performance areas
• Maintain health, safety and environmental standards.
• Actively participates in creating a healthy and safe working environment.
• Supervises and organizes sub-ordinates
• Ensure plant maintenance on backshifts
• Ensure that all plant process parameters are maintained by the operations team in strict accordance with instructions from Heap Leach Foreman.
• Ensure that samples are collected every shift and submitted to the lab for analysis.
• Submit shift report after each shift focusing on parameters, down time and safety performance.
• Isolation of the plant for maintenance activities.
• Conduct daily inspections of the plant. (acid lines, conveyors, pumps, solution pipelines, samplers)
• Assist with starting and stopping of the plant.
• Issue permit to work and obtain environmental clearance.
• Recommends improvements to processes and discusses these with other areas involved in the process
Minimum requirements
• Grade 12 certificate with an E in English
• Four (4) years’ experience in the Mineral Processing Operation Environment as an operator.
• Heap Leach operations experience will be an advantage.
• Valid code B drivers’ licence.
