PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Provide general transport, delivery and collection services of heavy objects to assist with the offloading of vessels with the aid of a Forklift.
QUALIFICATION(S) AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Grade 12 with a pass in English
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Forklift Operator
- A valid Forklift Operators Certificate
- A valid Mobile Crane Operators Certificate will be an added advantage
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transport heavy objects to the designated area as instructed by supervisors
- Establish that the items (products) on the pallets are correct as instructed before transporting
- Load and offload fish bins and material from the pallet
- Where necessary, keep tallies of items/pallets transported
- Assist to operate a mobile crane as and when requested
- Maintain the HACCP standards at all times when transporting fish products
