MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Driver’s License: Code B
- Education: Grade 12, Diploma in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field
- Equipment Operation: Mandatory compliance training done with less than 2 years or available for re-certification for forklift and bobcat
- Experience in a laboratory setting is preferred but not always required
- Language: English proficiency
- Physical Requirements: Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving samples
- Preferred: Experience in laboratory procedures, operation of analytic equipment (ICP, UV-VIS, XRF) and reporting
- Skills: Basic understanding of laboratory procedures, attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to follow instructions
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately record test results and maintain detailed logs
- Adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function
- Assist senior technician with various tasks and projects as needed and report any deviations
- Conduct routine tests and assist with more complex analyses
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Receive, label, prepare and do sample testing
Contract duration: 6 months
