PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To provide finance business partnership support to management by providing timely and accurate information to add value to the organisation. To provide leadership to the Management Accounting function in the organisation.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Manage Financial Information Reporting

  • Prepare monthly COGS reports as input to the final management accounting pack.
  • Present monthly production results to management.
  • Ensure the timely and correct provision of information to external stakeholders, e.g., BON and Ministries.
  • Ensure the accuracy of product profitability analysis based on Activity-Based Costing (ABC).
  • Oversee that the SAP controlling month-end procedure is executed timely and accurately within agreed timelines.

Plan and Process Interim and Annual Budgets

  • Manage the interim and annual budgeting processes for the Processing & Packaging plant and oversee the budgeting process for the Milk Production farm.
  • Perform Budgetary SAP functions: cost center uploading, cycles, and product costing maintenance.
  • Manage raw material spending and utility budgeting.
  • Compile, analyze, and report on major discrepancies in brand profitability reports.

Process of Cost Control within the Business Units

  • Manage, monitor, and influence the process of cost control for the entire business in collaboration with department heads.
  • Report and advise on major discrepancies (over and under-spending) and their impact on the company’s financial performance.
  • Analyze production order variances and scrapings weekly on raw materials and feed.
  • Optimize product profitability at milk production, processing, and packaging plants.

Manage, Control, and Maintain Product and Project Costing

  • Provide financial information to the GATE process to manage and compile financial feasibility studies for new products and projects.
  • Monitor the valuation of all types of inventories and advise Production based on the Inventory Valuation Policy.
  • Maintain overhead re-allocation keys and regularly update activity keys and production BOMs on SAP.
  • Support the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for relevant sections and measure performance against them monthly.

Master Data Maintenance

  • Create and update master data records on SAP for all business units.
  • Create and maintain new Bill of Materials (BOMs) on SAP.

Manage Month-End Procedure

  • Perform impact assessments on pricing and sales volume fluctuations on profitability.
  • Prepare information for management decision-making.
  • Prepare Business Performance review packs for AVIS/Superfarm and present them to non-financial personnel or the executive team.
  • Assist with half-year and year-end production stock takes and asset verifications as needed.
  • Prepare and present monthly utility reports for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and the sustainability team.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in management accounting or financial accounting with 3-5 years relevant working experience in management accounting.
  • Postgraduate degree in Management Accounting or Financial Accounting.
  • Management accounting experience in a manufacturing company or FMCG industry will be an added advantage.
