Chief Finance Officer – Minerals Development Company Botswana

Job Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the incumbent will lead financial strategy development and implementation, overseeing all financial and ICT processes while leading capital and funding strategies to ensure the company’s mining investment operations are well funded.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial strategy development and implementation in line with Company strategic aspirations
  • Oversee all financial and ICT processes of the Company
  • Lead the development and execution of optimal capital and funding strategies
  • Support investment and asset management activities during deal evaluation, negotiation, structuring, and execution
  • Manage accounting, financial and management reporting, taxation, treasury management, and external audits
  • Formulate and implement ICT strategy
  • Ensure a sound financial control environment and proactive financial risk management
  • Manage key stakeholders including credit agencies, financiers, and regulators
  • Lead and manage a team of finance and ICT professionals

Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, or CIMA)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years post-professional qualification experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years in an executive role
  • Experience in the mining investment management sectors is an added advantage
