The Company

A full line pharmaceutical wholesaler/distributor of medicines, surgical, clinical and consumer products in Namibia has a vacancy for an IT Support Specialist

Overview:

The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, within the organisation. They will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of hardware, software, and network systems, resolving technical issues, and ensuring user satisfaction.This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, excellent customer service, and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, or related fields (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS), and software applications
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Strong customer service orientation and communication of technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and service management practices
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues
  • Support requests via phone, email, or in-person and resolve problems
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications
  • Perform hardware and software upgrades, patches, and installations
  • Maintain activities such as system backups, updates, and security checks
  • Assist with troubleshooting and network-related configurations
  • Escalate complex issues and ensure prompt resolutions
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics
