Accountant job at First National Bank of Namibia

Job Description:

Analyze financial reports as well as interpret the current and projected company financial position. Co-ordinate the budget process and variance reporting by making use of predictive modelling. Prepare reports and financial statements in line with accounting practices and standards.

Are you someone who can:

  • Forecast, manage and optimise financial resources ensuring all expenditure is in line with the agreed budget
  • Analyse financial transactions and statements against budget to identify and monitor data against forecast for correction of potential weak areas
  • Preparation of the monthly reporting information – drawing insights from the analysis of trends and historic data
  • Detailed understanding and application of IFRS
  • Develop and periodically revise financial plans in order to project income and costs
  • Maintenance of expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments, industry best practices, and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders
  • Comply with governance in terms of legislative and audit requirements

You will be an ideal candidate if you:

  • Have a degree in Accounting or Financial Management
  • Have 3-5 years in a similar environment of which 1-2 years ideally at a senior specialist level
  • Have 3 years of completed articles and management accounting experience
  • Have financial services experience
  • Have experience with accounting software i.e. CaseWare, HFM
  • Are a strong communicator
  • Able to work independently and solve for solutions
  • Are agile and able to juggle ad hoc work requests
  • Can plan ahead and collaborate with a team
