Buyer – Rossing Uranium (Namibia)

Introduction:

A vacancy exists for a role of Buyer within Procurement Section. Reporting to the Procurement Advisor. The primary purpose of this role is to efficiently manage and execute daily procurement activities at RUL, ensuring compliance with the applicable procurement policy and adherence to CNNC and RUL Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The role is responsible for meeting general purchasing needs, from requisition to order placement.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Pursue zero harm by meeting legal requirements and company HSE standards.
  • Ensure compliance with standards and safe work procedures in line with the Rössing Standard.
  • Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Receive purchase requisitions from originators in workflow and take appropriate action.
  • Receive quotations, assess, and adjudicate to determine the successful vendor while considering the originator’s specific requirements.
  • Prepare and complete the SAP purchase order in accordance with company policies and, where applicable, existing agreements with the vendor.
  • Monitor vendor performance in terms of delivery compliance (due date, invoices, and delivery note) and report continuous non-compliance to the Procurement/Purchasing Manager.
  • Facilitate customer requirements in all procurement processes.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of a good procurement reputation and image through strong customer relations.
  • Support the Procurement Advisor to ensure Rössing Procurement performance meets business requirements.
  • Recommend improvements to procurement processes and discuss them with end customers.
  • Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, reviewing and communicating their impact on purchasing activities.

Requirements and experience:

  • 3-year National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration or related qualification and 5 years Post Qualification Procurement experience OR
  • Grade 12 with Minimum E in English and 7 Years Procurement Experience.
  • Code B Driver License
  • A Police certificate of conduct not older than six months is required. A record will not automatically disqualify candidates.
