Swakop Uranium (SU) is a private company registered in Namibia, and owns the Husab Mine near Swakopmund on the west coast of Namibia, was registered as a proprietary limited (Pty Ltd) company in 2006, with the sole purpose of participating in the uranium exploration rush that was taking place at the time and ultimately to become a uranium producer, and SU is a joint venture between the Namibian and Chinese governments.
