Planner (12 – Month – Fixed Term Contract)

Primary Purpose of the Role

 

a vacancy exists for an Planner (12-Month Fixed Term Contract)  reporting to the Superintendent: Asset Management. The successful incumbents will be in charged with responsibility to develop short-, medium- and long­ term plans that will improve the availability, reliability, and operability of equipment for the plant equipment in their area of responsibility, then carrying out the planning of the maintenance activities to the scheduling stage by identifying all required resources to complete the activity.

 

Key Performance Areas

 

  • Complying with all standards and provides an input as required into training, investigation of accidents. Provides input in identifying HSE hazards and incorporates mitigation actions.
  • Working constructively with other functions or departments and Increase effectiveness as a team member.
  • Creating work orders and determine the scope of work, review asset life cycle plan and future work to confirm scope is aligned with tactics. Review the primary maintenance forecast, plans and items.
  • Developing failure analyses, component tracking and warranty management program and systems. Recommends maintenance strategies based on analyses.
  • Analysing current work practices and come up with maintenance improvement initiatives for production levels, safety and reducing costs.
  • Effectively control of activities within the sections

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • A Three 3 Year National Vocational Trade Diploma L3/N3/S4 (Mechanical or Electrical) with Seven 7 Years Experience in Mining Environment or Large Organisation

  OR 

  • A Grade 12, with minimum E in English and 10 Years Experience as (Mechanical or Electrical) in Mining Environment or large organisation.
  • A code B Driver Licence
  • A Police certificate of conduct not older than six months is required. A record will not automatically disqualify candidates.

  • Project scheduling and planning skills.
  • Maintenance Planning/Scheduling skills
  • Administration skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of RUL mine operation
  • Good computer skills (MS Projects, MS Office and SAP).
