ABOUT THE ROLE

Job purpose

We are looking for an ORT Repair Technician reporting directly to the Branch Manager. This is a Local, based in Orangemund.

Receiving and initial inspection
• Tyre Identification
• Cleanliness
• Injury Identification
• Work planning

Repair Preparation
• Skiving/gouging/shaping
• Evaluation of the injury
• Measuring/Calculating curing times/Patch selection
• Preparing the inner liner

Final preparation
• Preparation cleaning
• Patch application
• Filling rubber/ stitching and shaping

Curing
• Heat pad and Air bag selection
• Setting up the curing system
• Curing/post cure

Final inspection
• Finishing
• Repair evaluation
• Signoff – Job card, repair reports Conscientious, thorough
• Cleanliness, and neatness
• Good with hands – work with various hand tools and air tools

Qualifications & Experience Required

Education, Master, other certification

• Min Grade 12
• Previous working experience as an OTR Technician
• Ability to the perform the tasks required.

Experience (years):
Computer literacy
Experience in the tyre industry will be an advantage.
Languages Skills:
English
Any local spoken languages

Soft/Behavioral Skills:

Conscientious, thorough.
Attention to detail.
Cleanliness & attention to detail.
Good with hands, must be able to work with various hand tools.
Physically fit – may be required to climb into large tyres or work bending into the tyre.
Basic math literacy – must be able to take measurements and calculate curing times, read application chart.
Good communication written and spoken – must be able to complete job card and basic   report writing.
Ability to learn new skills.
Safety minded.
