Our client, a custom software development/digital supply chain business catering to the mining industry, currently seeks to appoint multiple Field Service Technicians to join their growing team. This is a developing role which is forecasted to be based around Walvis Bay, Namibia once the client establishes a site there.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have Namibian Citizenship
- Willingness to travel and complete 3 months’ compulsory training in South Africa
- Completed secondary schooling
- A+ and N+ certification; or equivalent IT qualifications
- Preference will be given to individuals who have IT Diploma/ Degree
- Around 2 years’ experience in the mining/ heavy industries providing field service technician work/ technical inspections and maintenance
- Experience with CAT 5 cables (CAT 6 – CAT 7 would be advantageous)
- Valid driver’s license
- Flexibility to travel up to 75% of time is essential
- Willing to work standby and nightshift hours
- Valid passport
- Physically-fit
Main duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Installing and configuring software, hardware and networks;
- Network administration (LAN/ WAN/ Ethernet and related)
- Connecting devices (computers, network printers, routers, switches)
- Field service technical inspections and maintenance
