Job description

Carnegie Mellon University’s Dietrich College is searching for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join their team.  This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Examining the impact of isolationist strategies on scientific production and impact

  • Leadership in research design, analysis, and dissemination

  • Participation in collaborative team meetings

  • Other duties as assigned

You should demonstrate:

  • Interdisciplinary research expertise related to science studies and science policy

  • Strong knowledge of quantitative research methods and their application in research settings

  • Understanding of the global scientific landscape and current trends impacting science and policy

  • Ability to engage with complex, cross-disciplinary research questions and approaches

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. is required. 

  • Applicants who are in the process of obtaining their Ph.D. may be considered, provided they will complete all degree requirements, including the dissertation/defense, by December 31, 2026 OR December 2026.

A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Additional Information:

  • This is a fulltime (37.5 of hours), exempt position based in Pittsburgh, PA

  • Fixed Term: This is a fixed-term position with an estimated duration of 12 months.
