How we protect the website, and how you can protect yourself.
How we protect the website
We use a secure (HTTPS) connection, keep administrator passwords stored in a one-way encrypted form, limit repeated login attempts, and restrict who can add, edit or remove jobs. Job descriptions are cleaned so that harmful code cannot be added to a page.
How to spot a job scam
- You are asked to pay a fee, deposit, training or equipment cost.
- The employer wants your bank details, ID number or password before a written offer.
- The offer sounds too good to be true, or promises easy money for little work.
- Messages come from a free email address while claiming to be a large company.
- You are pushed to decide quickly or to move the chat to a private messaging app.
- The job advert has many spelling mistakes or no real company details.
Staying safe when you apply
- Research the company: find its official website and compare the contact details.
- Share only what is needed to apply. Keep ID and bank details until you have a written offer.
- Never send money to receive money, and never cash cheques for an employer.
- Use a strong, unique password for any account you create.
Report a problem
If you see a suspicious job, or you believe you have found a security problem on this website, please contact us with the page link and what you saw. We review every report and remove jobs that break our rules.
For employers
Only post jobs you are authorised to advertise. Never ask applicants for payment, and never ask for sensitive personal information in the first application.
